Android · IMU Chest Sensor Coming Soon

Know How You Sleep.
Not Just How Long.

Sleep Position Bridge straps a precision chest-worn sensor before bed and tracks every position change through the night — generating a clinical-style hypnogram with breathing rate monitoring and apnea event detection.

How It Works

One small chest-worn sensor. A night's worth of position and breathing insight.

1

Strap On the Sensor

Attach the IMU sensor to your chest before bed. NiteBridge connects via Bluetooth and confirms the sensor is positioned correctly before you sleep.

2

Sleep Normally

The sensor streams 9-axis IMU data — accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and quaternions — continuously through the night. NiteBridge classifies your position in real time and monitors chest movement for breathing patterns.

3

Review the Hypnogram

In the morning, a swim-lane hypnogram shows your full position timeline — when you were supine, on your side, prone, or upright. Detected breathing events appear as markers along the timeline.

4

Correlate with Therapy

Position data exports automatically to OSCAR and SleepHQ alongside your CPAP data — so you can see exactly when position changes correlated with apnea events, mask leaks, or pressure adjustments.

What Sleep Position Bridge Does

Clinical-grade positional monitoring from a single chest-worn sensor.

📊

Real-Time Hypnogram

A professional swim-lane chart updates live through the night, displaying each position as a distinct colour band across your sleep timeline — the same visualisation format used in clinical sleep studies.

🫁

Breathing Rate Monitoring

Chest accelerometer data is filtered into the breathing frequency band (0.08–0.5 Hz) and analysed continuously. Your current breathing rate is displayed live, with trend data stored across the session.

⚠️

Apnea Event Detection

Periods of absent or abnormal chest movement are classified as Mild (10–20s), Moderate (20–40s), or Severe (40s+) apnea events — with timestamps, duration, and severity logged for review.

🔋

Auto-Reconnection

If the Bluetooth connection drops during the night, Sleep Position Bridge reconnects automatically and preserves all data collected up to that point — no gaps, no lost sessions.

🧮

Sleep Quality Score

A composite 0–100 score is calculated from your night's breathing events and movement variability — giving you a single number to track improvement over time as you adjust sleep habits or therapy settings.

🔗

CPAP Correlation

Position data is timestamped to the same timeline as your CPAP therapy events. In OSCAR, you can overlay your position hypnogram against pressure, flow limitations, and apnea markers on the same chart.

Five Tracked Sleep Positions

Quaternion-derived roll and pitch angles classify your chest orientation into one of five states — updated continuously throughout the night.

Supine

Lying on your back — the position most associated with increased apnea events.

Left Side

Lying on your left side — often associated with reduced apnea frequency.

Right Side

Lying on your right side — lateral position with variable therapy impact.

Prone

Lying face-down on your stomach — uncommon but important to identify.

Upright

Sitting or standing — detected during arousals or bedtime transitions.

Note on breathing analysis: Breathing rate monitoring and apnea detection are experimental features based on chest accelerometer signal processing. They are intended for personal awareness only and are not a validated clinical apnea diagnostic. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical assessment of breathing during sleep.

Integrates with Your CPAP Data

Position context belongs alongside your therapy data — Sleep Position Bridge puts it there.

📂

OSCAR

Position timeline exports in OSCAR-compatible format. Overlay your position hypnogram directly against CPAP pressure, AHI, and flow waveforms — see exactly when supine position drove apnea events or leak spikes.

☁️

SleepHQ

Position and breathing data uploads to your SleepHQ account automatically after each session. Your sleep physician sees the full picture — therapy, oxygenation, and positional context together.
